Xerophthalmia comes from the Greek, meaning “dry eyes”.
Autoimmune disease associated with rheumatism, in which the lacrimal and salivary glands secreting affected, decreasing production.
Ten times more common in women than in men.


It occurs in 10 to 15% of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
About half of those affected have rheumatoid arthritis. (more…)
